Death stalks the streets of Spittle-Fields — an elusive killer committing horrible crimes. A century past, dread gripped the teeming slum of the Tenements. Women were savagely murdered by a shadowy figure who vanished into the fog. Then the murders stopped, but the killer was never found. Now a fresh murder awakens fears that the Ripper has returned.

Return of the Ripper is an urban horror investigation adventure for Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG. This is its second run at CERN. It started life as a Hallowe'en Special adventure that I ran in R1 in October 2023, that somehow got out of hand and continued for many months. This new, revised version is over twice as long with many new NPCs, encounter areas, terrifying monsters and deadly traps.

DCC RPG is a bit like D&D with the volume turned up to 11. However, you don't need to have played DCC — or any tabletop RPG — to take part. If you are interested, please join the Dungeon Crawl Classics channel on Mattermost, or send me a Direct Message.

Smoke and Shadows

Three centuries ago the mighty Quelin Empire planted its banner in the wild Southlands, carving out three thriving realms – Durnam, the iron‑rich highlands; Naveria, the mist-shrouded forests; and Eldoria, the wheat‑gold plains. Then, without warning, every ship, messenger and signal vanished; the empire’s voice fell silent and the colonies were cut off from the world they once knew.
Left alone, for centuries the colonies flourished, their borders safe behind the great walls of Quelin’s legacy – until a black fleet from the mysterious empire of Tavok appeared on the horizon, bearing fire and endless reinforcements.

The first wave was repelled by Durnam’s thunderous cannons and Naveria’s archers, but Tavok’s ships kept coming, each wave heavier than the last and with them, their foul magic. Ten years of siege have turned once‑bountiful farms into charred fields, and the great cities of Calen, Taldor, and Eldora now live under the constant fear of attacks. While the front lines bleed, the home front crumbles: guildmasters hoard grain, nobles barter their loyalties for gold, and whispered pacts with the enemy grow louder in tavern corners.

The Southlands’ only hope is unity – yet the very blood that binds them is poisoned by old grudges. In Durnam, the king is more devoted to the arts and sciences than to the military; in Naveria, the old king recently died and the trade council is bossing the young prince around; in Eldoria, the parliament is headed by a queen who is popular but bedridden.

As the seasons turn, the land itself groans under the weight of war, and the shadows of the unknown empire creep ever closer to the heart of the Southlands. And to make matters worse, rumours are spreading about orcs moving in the east, awekening old fears of another Orkensturm.

Will you rally the fractured realms and forge uneasy alliances? Will you defend villages in need and uncover external threats? Will you reveal long-forgotten lore and seek to restore the old empire to new glory? Or will you seize the chaos, sell your sword to the highest bidder, and watch the Southlands drown in ash?

Mothership

Mothership

This is a campaign running Tuesday Knight Game's Mothership, a space horror setting/system.

We meet Wednesday weekly after work, drop-in (Just message the channel before coming so I can get a head count). Open to beginners and veterans alike!
